| Independent Rambling Club |
The Independent Rambling Club was founded in October 1943. Membership was open to anyone interested in rambling, and the constitution stated that the club be essentially non-political and non-sectarian. At that time there was also a Youth Hostel Section. In 1946 there were 70 members paying an annual subscription of 5 shillings. As well as rambles the Committee organised socials and visits to theatres and concerts. From that time on the club has gone from strength to strength.
Today now having nearly 400 members we still warmly welcome new ones.
The annually elected Committee organise at least three walks each week ( Saturday, Sunday and midweek) ,all using public transport. Distances generally from 4 to 8 miles over sometimes flat and sometimes hilly terain mostly within Greater London or the Home Counties but with occasional ventures further afield. Members enjoy several coach rambles during the summer months usually to the coast .

We hold rambles and interest visits each Saturday and sometimes mid-week using public transport.
Our walks are from 6 up to 15 miles long.
Enjoy the countryside, get some exercise, and unwind.

The Bermondsey wall, 2 mile Thames-side walk from London Bridge to Rotherhithe
Linear 10 mile walk from Sawbridgeworth to Harlow Mill via Matching
Circular 12½ mile ramble from Harpenden via Flamstead

| Staines Ramblers Pop |
Staines Rambler's provide walks mainly in Surrey but also in West Sussex and the Chilterns ; these walks usually take place on Saturdays and Sundays with a midweek walk on a Wednesday or Thursday. Also included are occasional 5 to 7 days walking holidays or 4 day weekends to, for example, the Cotswolds and the Lake district.

| The Saturday Walking Club |
The Saturday Walkers Club (SWC) is a London based walking group.
The club organises several walks each week in south east England, about an hour by train from central London. The walks are public transport friendly (but you are welcome to drive), and stop at a pub for lunch (but you are welcome to bring a picnic).
All club walks are free, and everybody is welcome, especially visitors to London. Just turn up! See
